Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse
Are you or a family member suffering from a wound that won’t heal, recovering from recent ostomy surgery, or having problems with your ostomy? Nemaha County Hospital staffs a Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN), who treats these issues under the supervision of a physician using evidence based treatments that include: nutrition, appropriate dressing selection for wounds and management of illnesses that affect the healing. Ostomy Care includes assessment and selection of an appropriate ostomy appliance and management of skin issues to allow patients to return to their previous level of independence.
